Speed Cleaning

Declutter Fast

Your house is a mess and you need to do something about it, because frankly you’re tired of having to make your way around the little pile of clutter in the living room, jump over the newer pile of clutter in the hallway, and wade through the clutter on the staircase. What you need ideally is a bout of speed cleaning to get you on your way.

This isn’t as hard as you might think despite the masses of clutter in your house. To begin with you will have to speed clean your way systematically through the house, room by room to get rid of the build up of months and even years of clutter. But after you’ve speed cleaned your way through the clutter, you can then go on to speed cleaning your house on a daily or weekly basis.

The first rule of speed cleaning then, is never to go around the room twice. Start from one corner and work your way through to the other end. Go from the top of the room to the bottom in an orderly fashion. In other words, don’t do the floor, or the lowest shelves first because when you get to the top, all the dust and dirt from the top will just fall back onto your newly cleaned surfaces.

The next thing that you will want to look into if you want to go through your house speed cleaning, is getting yourself a many-pocketed apron. You will then need to fill these many pockets with the tools of your speed cleaning trade, namely a duster, a dusting cloth, cleaning liquids, a brush of some sorts, and a razor.

If you’re still dealing with the clutter in your home, then take along a black bin bags with along with your other speed cleaning tools, one for each room. Use these to get the junk and things out which you don’t want cluttering up the room. As you go through the room put the things that you want to throw in the bag.

When you’ve gone through the room completely, you can then take your bin bag outside and leave it in the hallway. Pretty soon all the filled up bin bags will find a spot alongside your first one and you will be able to put them outside afterwards.

If you’re dealing with a mainly clean house then you probably won’t need a bin bag per room, but it never hurts to take a few along with you as you go through the house. This will save the time needed for you to go back and fetch either the bin bag or the dustbin from another corner of the room.

And since saving time is what speed cleaning is all about, this is something that you will want to do, along with getting yourself a many-pocketed apron. All of these things will save you on time and will make it so that you only spend minimal time on cleanup.
